WinTech Racing has announced that it has partnered with fashion brand and design lab Rowing Blazers to create a limited edition single racing shell. For every limited edition boat sold, WinTech Racing will donate one of their Explorer learn-to-row singles to clubs and organisations around the world whose membership programs prioritise inclusion and diversity.
In the UK, WinTech Racing has chosen to partner with Love Rowing (British Rowing’s Charitable Foundation) to ensure the donated boats go to clubs and other organisations with strong diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Helen Rowbotham, Director of Love Rowing said “We are excited to be collaborating with WinTech Racing and Rowing Blazers on this exciting initiative to support accessible and inclusive rowing for communities that are currently underrepresented in the sport. The Wintech Explorer 21 is perfect for adaptive and recreational rowing as well as newcomers to the sport, so it’s a great fit for our accessible and inclusive school, adaptive and community programmes.”
As well as supplying boats to World & Olympic Champions the team at WinTech Racing understands that the health of recreational and competitive rowing depends on “growing the game” outside its familiar borders. They see a huge opportunity to grow the sport by introducing it to underserved communities, potentially changing countless lives.
Designed by renowned German Hull Designer Klaus Filter the limited edition racing shell features WinTech’s industry leading full high-modulus unidirectional carbon construction and rigger, Rowing Blazers’ signature stripe hand-painted on the decks, and a custom interior. It also comes with sculling blades, a custom padded boat cover and Rowing Blazers Rugby Shirt. 250 of these boats will be available worldwide which could yield up to $1.4 million worth of donated learn-to-row boats.
Jack Wilson, Director at WinTech Racing UK said “The last year or so has been particularly challenging for the rowing community and we are delighted to be able to partner with Rowing Blazers & Love Rowing to not only give back and help grow our community but also to ensure we help make rowing a more diverse and inclusive sport.
The WinTech Racing x Rowing Blazers Single will be available from 18 May 2021. For more information visit https://wintechracing.com/rowingblazers/
