We'd love as many people as possible to be involved in the Big Row 2022

We are excited to announce that The Big Row is back for May 2022 and registration is now open!

This year we are challenging the rowing community to row, cycle, run, swim, walk or push around the world in 30 days (40,075km) whilst raising funds to support inclusive rowing projects across the UK.

Last year our Big Row-ers got into the Tokyo 2020 spirit and supported our GB Rowing Team athletes, rowing the distance from London to Tokyo and back to Paris whilst raising £30k! This year with your support we could be on track to raise even more. Whether it's providing equipment to make rowing adaptive and fun for everyone, funding summer camps to introduce young people to on water rowing or training up community indoor row champions, money raised will be reinvested into making rowing accessible for all.

May 2022 will be jam packed with exciting activities for everybody to get involved in kicking off on the 1st May at BUCS Regatta and continuing throughout the month to a finale at National Schools Regatta on the 30th May. We would love to see more clubs and schools join this year and we are working hard to design activities that everybody can enjoy.

All clubs and schools who raise over £500 will be guaranteed 50% of their raised funds back to put towards an inclusive project of their own. This means that if you raise £2000 then £1000 would automatically be reinvested back into your club! Plus you could apply to our small grants fund in the summer, and if we believe that you have a successful inclusive project or idea then you could receive even more funding towards your activities. We will also support and promote all participants, clubs and schools to promote awareness around your activities.

To sign up CLICK HERE and don’t forget to share with your club. We need a big team to row around the world!

If you have any questions please check our website or email Sally Corander at info@loverowing.org.

The Big Row 2022 - calendar of activities

What happens throughout the month? So much! See below for some of the activities we have planned for you.

WIN EVERY WEEK

During the month of The Big Row, we will have competitions and give-aways every week! Keep an eye out on social for our competitions! Follow us @BRCF_loverowing

We will be awarding:

  • The club with the most kms clocked during the week. Let’s start as we mean to go on and see who starts the month off with the biggest distance rowed.

  • The best crew selfie or photo. We want to see you all and get to know you! We will pick a winner at random.

  • The ‘best dressed’ crew/team. This could be fancy dress, it could be smart dress - perhaps you have a posh dinner at the club or it could be the best lycra in the country... in your opinion! :)

  • The club/team who raises the most during the week. A final push in our last week to see how much all our teams can raise for some wonderful causes.
